"Everything's Alright" by Heather Pent

When agony rips through my chest
An unseen, gaping wound
My mind says, "Just go on, and do your best."
But my heart says, "Help will be there soon."

When I scream and cry and try to fight
The help that comes my way
I feel sins cold grasp cast me back in doubt,
The stone no longer rolled away.

But when I see His loving hands
reaching down to hug me tight,
And I learn to see this loving grasp as Freedom:
My right in Christ!
I put the stubborn me aside,
And reach out for the light.
The only way I can truly say, "Everything's alright!"

  1. Heather: What a beautiful poem. You a chip off the old(papa's) block, from the looks of it. Keep it up!
